Russell Smith, a well known Cape Town photographer, recently opened a new studio in Woodstock. Milck Studios is where he shoots his own projects and also leases space out to other creatives in the same industry.
Russel needed new desks for his studio, but could not find ones that matched the exact specifications he wanted in order to create the perfect creative space. For himself, he specifically wanted his desk to have hidden cable holes where he could hide all of his extra wire cabling and back up drives for his own complex desktop set up. As for the freelance studio space - he wanted desks that were modular and movable, so that they could accommodate multiple set-ups for that room. He asked us to custom make the desks for him so that they would be exactly how he wanted them - dimension wise, style & type of wood/tubular metal. We knew that Russell's studios are minimalistic by design, and so we wanted to make him bespoke desks that matched this aesthetic. This is how they turned out...
He was extremely happy with the result.
Russell's desks were made from Grade A natural Oak and matte black tubular metal. They were then sealed in Pro Nature Cotton White which is a UV and stain resistant product.
