This family had many photographs collected over the years, but in fact not much wall space to hang them all, so we decided on creating an accent wall with floating shelves to showcase this collection.

The wall is painted in Rhinecastle with floating shelves reinforced with metal rods to hold the weight of the frames and glass. Each shelf has a small lip on the front that will prevent the framed photos from slipping off. We also chose the paint the shelves in the same shade as the wall to help them melt into the background and not chop the wall up from a distance.

This space is used by the kids to watch TV, thus they stuck with easy to clean leather seated area. The Chesterfield leather sofa is a family heirloom, which we complimented with over-dyed Persian rugs sourced in Cape Town, along with Havanna Cigar chairs to compliment the leather sofa.
